On August 2, there was a report of a violent altercation between a father and his son at the victim’s residence in the Little River area of the city. Authorities were notified of the incident between 6 and 8 p.m. and responded promptly. The victim’s home is located near the 400 block of Northwest 79th Street.

According to the MPD’s arrest report, the victim’s son Joshua Deleon woke him up by insisting that he get up and join him.

According to an arrest report, the father stated that Deleon grew more and more agitated with each refusal.

According to the report, after the first altercation, Deleon left the house but came back an hour later, speaking in tongues that the victim was unable to comprehend.

According to authorities, the victim was in such fear for his life that he took an oxygen tank and walker and fled the residence.

According to the report, after the incident, the victim went to a laundromat close by to seek refuge. When he saw Deleon nearby, he approached a bystander for assistance. The police stated this in their official statement.

According to jail records, Deleon is currently charged with assault and battery on a victim who is 65 years or older.

He is currently detained at the Metro West Detention Center with a bond set at $10,000, as of Friday.

It is currently unclear what motivated the attack.
