A 67-year-old man from Homestead was arrested over the weekend after allegedly touching a girl and kissing her on the lips twice, according to authorities.
Homestead police reported that the incident took place late Friday night and was subsequently reported early Saturday morning.
A woman who had recently returned home from picking up food at a nearby restaurant informed the police that she overheard a heated argument taking place outside.
According to the police, the woman stepped outside and witnessed an altercation between the suspect, Juan Bautista Bonilla, and another acquaintance.
The arrest report states that the woman observed the victim displaying signs of fear and unease, prompting her to inquire about the source of her distress.
According to the police, the victim recounted that Bautista Bonilla touched her chest and vagina over her clothes. Additionally, he kissed her on the lips twice.
The report states that the woman instructed the other man to distance himself from Bautista Bonilla, prompting him to dial 911.
According to the police, the man informed the officers that he had observed Bautista Bonilla’s actions against the victim when he arrived at the house in his vehicle. Subsequently, he decided to confront him.
During the police interrogation, Bautista Bonilla exercised his right to have an attorney present, as stated in the report.
The individual faced legal consequences after being accused of engaging in inappropriate and offensive behavior, specifically involving the molestation of a minor below the age of 12.
Bautista Bonilla is currently being held without bond at the Metrowest Detention Center as of Monday afternoon.
