The family members have identified the body of a woman, 41-year-old Marimar Roman Cora, who had been missing for ten days, after it was pulled from a canal in Sunrise, Fla.
Cora’s body was identified by her brother, confirming that it was indeed Cora. Authorities had reported her missing since August 3rd.
Cora, who was employed at Tin Fish restaurant in Sunrise, was last spotted that evening by her brother, who wishes to remain anonymous. He stated that she had gone out with her colleagues to a neighboring restaurant after finishing her shift at Tin Fish.
Joseph Melluso, who worked with Cora at Tin Fish, described her as a beloved and vibrant individual. Customers and staff alike admired her for her beauty and dynamic personality.
Melluso expressed his appreciation for working with her, stating, “She was great to work with.” He also expressed his sincere regret and condolences to the family, acknowledging the tremendous difficulty they must be going through.
The authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding how Cora’s body ended up in the canal.
The police have yet to confirm the identity of the body. They have stated that they will provide updates as they become available.
