According to a detective’s report, there is a violent gang that is active in a public park located near schools, athletic areas, and even a commissioner’s office in Liberty City, Miami.
On April 27, a girl reported to the police that she had encountered two individuals wearing jackets who had pointed guns at her at Charles Hadley Park, located at 1350 NW 50 St. As a result, a search was initiated.
During the incident, an undercover police officer identified Leondre Walker as a suspect. A foot chase ensued, and Walker was seen reaching into his waistband. He then retrieved a Taurus G2C handgun with an extended magazine and proceeded to toss it.
The arrest warrant reveals that the Taurus G2C was found with a live round in the chamber, while the extended magazine contained 21 live rounds. It is worth noting that Walker, 20, had previous encounters with law enforcement.
The undercover detective characterized Walker as a known gang member. Walker gained media attention last year when he led police on a chase in a stolen Jeep, resulting in a crash on August 31st in Broward County. However, the case was eventually dismissed.
Police officers arrested Walker in Miami on April 27 and obtained a warrant to search his iPhone, which was seized during the arrest.
Detectives discovered that Walker was in a state of mourning over the loss of Jeremiah Rollers. This was evident from his “MIAHWAY” tattoo on his arm and an iPhone screensaver photo where he was seen holding a weapon. The photo was labeled “M4M,” which stood for “Murder 4 Miah.”
During the search of Walker’s cell phone, detectives discovered a message containing stolen identification information belonging to a man in Nevada, as well as another message containing stolen ID data of a man from Miami Gardens.
Walker was booked by correctional officers at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County shortly after 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, according to inmate records.
Walker faced multiple charges related to fraudulent use or possession of personal identification. These charges included two counts of fraudulent use or possession of personal ID, one count of unlawful use of a communications device, and two counts of unlawful possession of four or fewer identifications.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Zachary N. James was scheduled to preside over the case, with Walker’s bond review set for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday and the arraignment at 9 a.m. on Sept. 3.
