According to State Police, they are currently investigating a tragic three-car collision that resulted in the death of a man from the Hudson Valley on Thursday.
Officials have reported that the victim was not involved in the initial crash. However, the impact of the first collision caused a semi-truck to veer into the opposite lane, resulting in the victim’s vehicle being hit.

According to a recent report, the United States experienced 42,514 fatalities resulting from motor vehicle crashes in 2022, based on an analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System. The report further reveals that New York state alone saw 1,174 deaths in the same year.
State Police Say Man Died in Three-Vehicle CrashÂ
According to a press release by the New York State Police, troopers were dispatched to County Route 115 in the town of Cochecton on July 11 at 12:05 PM following a report of a three-car accident.
According to State Police, a recent investigation has found that a Budget Rental Truck, specifically a 2024 Ford 650, and a 2023 GMC were both heading north on County Route 155. However, the Budget truck veered off into the opposite lane, colliding with a 2023 Freightliner driving south. The impact caused the Freightliner to lose control and cross over into the opposite lane, hitting the GMC. As a result, the GMC went off the road and ended up on the east shoulder.
According to the State Police, the GMC operator was transported to Garnet Medical Center in Callicoon but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in the incident. Sher Singh of Middletown, aged 37, has been identified as the victim by the New York State Police.
