The 38th Annual New York Wine Classic has named a well-loved winery in the Finger Lakes area as the Winery of the Year. This winery has gained immense popularity among wine enthusiasts.
The Winery of the Year award and the Governor’s Cup were presented to Weis Vineyards in Hammondsport, in recognition of their exceptional 2018 Reisling Ice Wine.
The New York Wine Classic is a prestigious competition that honors exceptional wines crafted by producers in New York on a national level. The New York Wine & Grape Foundation is the organizer of this event, which features a panel of experts including beverage directors, bartenders, and educators, among others, who meticulously evaluate the wines.
The Finger Lakes region has made a mark in the wine industry, with three more wineries receiving recognition for their exceptional blends. Damiani Wine Cellars was awarded Best Sparking for its 2017 Brut Méthode Champenoise, while Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery received Best White Wine for its Reserve Reisling 2022. Fulkerson also made the list, taking home the award for Best Pink Wine for its Syrah Rosé. These wineries have evidently proven their dedication and expertise in producing quality wines that are deserving of recognition.
