The individual accused of being the “vicious killer” responsible for the disappearance of a Hudson Valley woman has moved closer to facing trial.
In 2023, the alleged killer of Megan McDonald, daughter of an NYPD detective, was finally arrested, after she had already been killed.
In March of 2003, the body of McDonald, a 20-year-old resident of the Town of Wallkill, was discovered in a field in Wallkill. It’s worth noting that McDonald was the daughter of an NYPD detective.
A grand jury indicted Holley for second-degree murder in early 2024. If Holley is found guilty, he could be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Judge Hyun Chin Kim of Orange County Court granted only one pre-trial motion to Edward Holley’s defense team on Monday. This motion will decide whether the statements made by Holley to law enforcement can be used against him during the court proceedings.
The judge’s recusal was also requested by Holley’s legal team, but their request was ultimately denied.
The court has set September as the month for Holley’s next appearance.
