Fort Myers, Florida: Two men are wanted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on charges of stealing more than $700,000 from more than 600 churches, including those in Lee and Collier counties.
According to accounts, Marius “Viorel” Dumitru, 37, and Marius Dumitru, 30, were taken into custody by the FDLE in 2021 during Operation Thou Shall Not Steal. After their arrest, the court freed them, and they apparently fled before their trial.
According to reports, Viorel and Marius are accused with money laundering, grand theft, unlawful possession of personal identification, and conspiring to commit racketeering.
According to reports, the two guys stole more than $761,000 from more than 68 churches around the country.
According to FDLE, the recently convicted co-conspirators are Ionut Raducan, 36, Panait Dumitru, 35, Simona Trandafir, 43, and Catalin Trandafir, 48.
Viorel and Marius were last seen in the Orlando region before to their escape.
