According to sources from within, there were riots at a juvenile detention center in Goshen that resulted in several young individuals being transported to the hospital last week. The state Office of Children and Family Services supervises the Cross Road facility.
According to a spokesperson from the state agency, there were two instances of group disturbances that occurred at the facility. As a result, the staff had to seek medical care for the affected residents from outside sources.
According to insiders, a young person was injured in the neck and needed 30 stitches due to a slashing incident. This is the second time makeshift weapons have been used inside the center since June.
According to OCFS, they frequently collaborate with law enforcement to conduct on-site searches. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
According to an Office of Children and Family Services spokesperson, anyone found to have or help possess contraband will face disciplinary action and coordination with law enforcement to address those individuals who have engaged in such acts.
