Families can now apply for low-cost childcare in New York State through an online portal, making the process much simpler and more accessible.
State officials claim that hundreds of thousands of families are eligible for affordable childcare, but Governor Hochul reveals that many of them are either unaware of this or have given up due to the previously challenging application process. Fortunately, Aisha has successfully enrolled in the program.
“I never really believed that we would qualify for assistance. I assumed that our income would be considered too high for any kind of aid. With a family of five, I thought there was no way we would meet the income requirements.”
Checking for eligibility and applying for the Child Care Assistance Program has never been easier with the new online portal, ny.gov/childcare. Families of four who qualify can rest assured that they will only pay a maximum of fifteen dollars per week through this program.
