According to court records, William Angelo Puig has admitted to one count of felony criminal mischief as well as two misdemeanor counts of battery and leaving the scene of a crash causing damage. As a result, Puig will be placed on probation.

The charges of attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and attempted false imprisonment were either dropped or not pursued by prosecutors.

According to state troopers, Puig is accused of causing a collision between his blue Dodge Caravan and the victim’s pickup truck while driving north on U.S. 27 towards Krome Avenue. Puig allegedly ran the truck off the road and later used a crowbar to strike it. In addition to this, he was also accused of punching the victim in the face.

In late June, Puig pleaded guilty and was subsequently given four years of probation.
