A man was arrested by Miami-Dade police on Tuesday for allegedly shooting a longtime acquaintance outside of a liquor store in May.
Wilson Augustin, a 33-year-old resident of northwest Miami-Dade, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm as a felon. Records from Florida’s prison system indicate that he has previously been found guilty of the same charge, as well as battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
Police reported that Tiny’s Liquors, situated in the unincorporated Pinewood region at 11300 NW Seventh Ave, witnessed gunfire at around 1 am on May 28.
According to the police, the victim, who was 34 years old, was captured on surveillance video arriving at the store while Augustin had just finished buying something and was returning to a white Nissan Maxima.
According to the police, the victim was taken to North Shore Medical Center by a friend for treatment. During the investigation, the victim identified Augustin as the shooter.
The police arrested Augustin on Tuesday in the northeast Miami-Dade area of Carmel Lakes Drive and Ives Dairy Road, as stated in the police report.
According to online jail records, he remains in custody without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Wednesday afternoon.
