On Thursday, officials revealed the identity of the man who stands accused of stabbing his girlfriend in front of her child in Hialeah. Additionally, a video has surfaced that shows the 10-year-old child waiting for first responders to arrive after the alleged attack.
Hialeah police reported that a stabbing related to a domestic incident occurred at 4295 West 11th Place at approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
After the victim, a 35-year-old woman, made a distress call to 911, the child patiently waited for the officers outside the house as instructed by the police.
Authorities transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. At this time, there is limited information available regarding her current condition.
Upon the arrival of the officers, Mairena was still present inside the home, according to the police.
According to reports, he emerged from the scene with a stab wound that appeared to have been self-inflicted.
As of Thursday morning, he is still receiving medical treatment at Ryder Trauma Center after being taken into custody.
