A crash on Interstate 95 led to a 24-year-old woman being charged with driving under the influence and attempting to steal a trooper’s Taser in North Miami, FL.
On Friday, a rollover accident on the northbound lanes of I-95 near Northwest 135th Street involved Alexis Mackenzie Franke, according to police.
Upon arriving at the scene, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers detected signs of impairment in Franke and proceeded to try and place him in a patrol car.
FHP reported that Franke was able to seize a Taser from another trooper and attempted to use it.
The troopers took control of Franke and apprehended her, putting her under arrest.
At the time of the incident, the individual, who was 24 years old, declined to participate in both field sobriety and breathalyzer tests.
The law enforcement officer accused her of committing aggravated assault, resisting arrest with violence, resisting arrest without violence, and two counts of DUI.
After being apprehended, she was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a bond of $10,000.
