Authorities have confirmed that an explosion at a concession stand inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Thursday afternoon resulted in the hospitalization of three workers.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in the vicinity of the 300 block of Don Shula Drive.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported that hazmat units were called to the location following reports of a gas odor.
MDFR has reported that two workers were sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, with one being transported via air rescue and the other through ground transportation. As per the authorities, a private ambulance transported the third victim to a nearby hospital.
At around 3 p.m., Sky 10 surveyed the area where a worker, whose shirt showed signs of singeing, was being transported to a nearby hospital on a gurney.

Earlier today, a concession stand on the club level of the stadium experienced an incident that resulted in injuries to three workers. The affected individuals have been transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the cause of the incident was promptly identified and extinguished, and there is no current threat to the safety of anyone in the stadium. The incident is not anticipated to impact the Dolphins game scheduled for this Friday evening.
Local 10 News has received confirmation from a spokesperson for Hard Rock that the occurrence took place at a concession stand situated at the club level of the stadium.
Authorities have not disclosed the victims’ age, gender, identity, or condition. It is currently unclear what caused the explosion.
