Two fatal shootings that occurred within a mile of each other in NW Miami-Dade are currently under investigation by the police. These incidents took place just hours apart on Sunday morning.
Around 1 a.m., a man with gunshot wounds was discovered near the 8200 block NW Miami Court. Police found him and transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Unfortunately, despite being in critical condition, the man later succumbed to his injuries.
Around 5:20 a.m., there was another shooting incident near the 1000 block NW 79th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had been shot. Tragically, the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue team pronounced him dead at the scene. The police are currently investigating the incident.
Shortly after the initial discovery, detectives reported that an additional individual arrived at Hialeah Hospital with evident gunshot wounds. Subsequently, this individual was transferred to Ryder Trauma Center and is currently in stable condition.
It is not clear if these two shootings are connected as detectives have not provided any information about possible suspects in either of the cases.
The Homicide Bureau of the Miami-Dade Police Department is currently investigating both of the shootings.
