An early morning hit-and-run crash in southwest Miami-Dade claimed the life of one person, while another individual was rushed to the hospital.

At around 3:30 a.m., three vehicles collided at the intersection of LeJeune Road and SW 8 Street, as reported by the Miami-Dade police.

Miami Fire Rescue responded to the scene and discovered a tragic incident involving two vehicles. Regrettably, a 29-year-old man, who was driving one of the vehicles, had lost his life. On the other hand, a woman, who was driving the second vehicle, sustained injuries and was promptly transported to Coral Gables Hospital. Thankfully, her condition is currently stable.

The crash prompted the driver of the white SUV to flee the scene, according to the police.

A man who resides in the vicinity expressed his disbelief, exclaiming, “Oh my God, are you kidding me? It’s absolutely terrible, absolutely horrible, you know.”

The Miami-Dade police have revealed that their Traffic Homicide Unit has concluded that the crash originated within the city limits of Miami. As a result, the investigation has been handed over to the Miami police.

Authorities are currently in pursuit of the driver who fled the scene, while the police have refrained from disclosing any details regarding the cause of the accident.
