Starting from Monday, early voting for the Primary Election will begin in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. This will be an in-person voting opportunity, so residents can cast their votes early. The voting process will take place in Miami, and it is expected to run smoothly.
If you’re in Miami-Dade, you have the option to choose from 23 polling locations to cast your ballot. Early voting is currently ongoing until Sunday, Aug. 18.
Registered voters have the flexibility to visit any of the 23 sites located throughout the county during the early voting period. However, on Election Day, voters must visit their designated precinct. The Elections Department’s website will provide wait time information for all 23 locations, which will be regularly updated throughout the day. This allows voters to choose the most convenient time and location for them to exercise their right to vote.
There are a total of five polling locations in Monroe where you can cast your vote. If you plan to vote early, keep in mind that the last day for early voting is Saturday, Aug. 17.
It is highly recommended that voters do not postpone casting their ballot until Election Day, which falls on Aug. 20.
In Florida, the primary election system operates as a closed party system. This means that only voters who are registered with a specific political party are allowed to vote in their respective party’s primary election. Despite this, all voters in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties will be able to participate in several non-partisan races and questions, regardless of their party affiliation.
Before heading to the polls, Miami-Dade voters are advised to review their personalized sample ballots.
When heading to the polls, it’s essential to ensure you have the proper identification. A photo ID with your signature is required, so it’s recommended to bring your driver’s license, passport, or state identification card. This will ensure a smooth and hassle-free voting experience.
Starting on Saturday, August 10th, Broward residents can begin casting their votes early, with the option to do so available until August 18th.
