The department arrested Keith Hill Jr., a 30-year-old, on Friday. With the help of the Hollywood Police Department, authorities were able to locate Hill in Hollywood. It’s worth noting that Hill is not from the state where he was found.
Late Friday morning, the officers spotted him strolling along Hollywood Beach and immediately recognized him. They proceeded to take him into custody for a misdemeanor charge.
Around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, a young woman was rollerblading along the beach walk in Miami Beach when she was attacked, according to investigators. The attack was horrific in nature.
Sunny Isles Beach officers allegedly approached Hill in a nearby park on Monday, the day before the alleged rape, according to Miami Beach police.
After obtaining surveillance photos, detectives were able to generate a more distinct image, allowing Hollywood police officers to locate him through a new flyer.
Upon investigation into Hill’s background, it was discovered that he is registered as a sex offender in the state of Illinois.
Christine King, who works along Miami Beach, expressed her discomfort with staying in the area after dark. “I always leave here before it gets dark, there’s a creepy vibe after dark,” she stated. She also mentioned how many people in the area share this sentiment.
After the crime was committed, Hill was interrogated by the Hollywood police and subsequently transferred to the Broward County Mail Jail in Fort Lauderdale. Meanwhile, the Miami Beach police initiated the extradition process to bring him back to their jurisdiction, where the offense took place.
He is currently in jail due to violating the sex offender registration law and providing false identification.
