Arthur Booth, the man who gained viral fame in 2015, after reuniting with his former classmate, Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer, in a courtroom, made another appearance in court on Thursday. This time, he faced charges of robbery and burglary.
In this instance, Glazer, his former classmate from Nautilus Middle School, was absent from bond court. There was a different judge presiding over the proceedings.
Booth, 58, was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in two incidents in which he is accused of forcefully taking jewelry from the victims. One incident occurred in Hialeah, while the other took place in Miami.
On August 14th, Booth, posing as a plumber, forced his way into the apartment of a 78-year-old man in Hialeah. According to the arrest report, Booth was wearing dark blue clothing, dark boots, a white construction hard hat, and Gucci sunglasses at the time.
According to Hialeah police, Booth went to the kitchen and turned on the water while the resident, in a state of fear, continuously pleaded with him to leave.
According to the police, Booth forcefully grabbed the victim’s gold necklace from around his neck and pushed him, almost causing him to fall.
According to the report, he escaped with the man’s necklace worth $1,500.
Police reported that a second case occurred on Tuesday evening in the Grapeland Heights neighborhood of Miami.
According to Miami police, Booth approached a woman near Northwest 34th Avenue and 17th Street. He called her “mami” and pretended to ask for directions.
According to the arrest report, as soon as the woman turned away, he swiftly grabbed her Gucci gold chain, which was adorned with multiple pendants, and quickly fled the scene.
The police successfully located his vehicle at a CVS store situated in Miami’s Flagami neighborhood at 690 NW 57th Ave.
Authorities said they found him there, along with the hard hat and Gucci sunglasses from the Hialeah burglary.
During the investigation, law enforcement officials discovered additional clothing in the suspect’s room at a nearby extended-stay hotel. Furthermore, they were able to ascertain that the suspect had pawned the necklace belonging to the victim from Hialeah at a shop located in northwest Miami-Dade.
Booth, who was already on probation for charges of fleeing and eluding and reckless driving, was apprehended by the police. They arrested him on charges of burglary with assault or battery and robbery by sudden snatching.
Booth is currently being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. As of Thursday, it seems that Booth did not fulfill Glazer’s expectation from 2015, which was for him to live a lawful life following their courtroom encounter.
