According to a detective’s report, there is evidence of a violent gang operating within a public park located near an elementary, middle, and high school in Miami’s Liberty City.
On April 27, a young girl reported to the police that she had encountered a duo who had aimed guns at her at Charles Hadley Park, located at 1350 NW 50 St. The suspect in question, identified by Miami Detective Jerry Paret, is Leondre Walker.
During the incident, a foot chase ensued. Paret reported that the 20-year-old suspect, Walker, proceeded to reach into his waistband, retrieve a Taurus G2C handgun equipped with an extended magazine, and discard it while making his escape.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers discovered the Taurus G2C handgun. The firearm was loaded with a live round in the chamber, and an additional 21 live rounds were found in the magazine. It is worth noting that Walker had previously come into contact with the police.
According to Paret, he referred to him as a “documented gang member.” In the previous year, Walker gained attention when he was involved in a police chase while driving a stolen Jeep, which ultimately resulted in a crash. Furthermore, he was among the individuals who were apprehended on August 31 in Broward County. However, the charges against him were subsequently dismissed.
On April 27th, when Walker was arrested in Miami, the police confiscated his Taurus G2C firearm and his iPhone for further investigation.
Walker mourned the loss of Jeremiah Rollers, his dear friend. On his arm, he proudly displayed a tattoo that read “MIAHWAY,” honoring their bond. Additionally, he had a screensaver photo of Jeremiah holding a weapon, labeled “M4M” as a tribute to their shared memories.
Miami-Dade prosecutors have filed charges against Walker for possessing a firearm as a delinquent, carrying a concealed firearm, and resisting an officer without causing harm to him.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch handed down a 12-month probation sentence to Walker on June 11. As per the Florida Department of Corrections, the probation was scheduled to conclude on June 10, 2025.
Detectives discovered a message on Walker’s cell phone that contained stolen identification data from a man in Nevada and another message with stolen ID data from a resident of Miami Gardens.
According to inmate records from Miami-Dade County, correctional officers at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center booked Walker around 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
Walker faced multiple charges related to fraudulent use and possession of personal identification, as well as unlawful use of a communications device. Additionally, he was charged with unlawful possession of a limited number of identifications.
Paret, who is a member of the gang intelligence unit, collaborated with Miami-Dade Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Hernandez-Garcia, who is also a member of the gang strike force, on the case.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Zachary N. James has scheduled Walker’s bond review for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, with the arraignment to follow at 9 a.m. on September 3. Judge James will be presiding over the case.
