Miami police detained a 30-year-old man on Tuesday for hitting his father with a fan. This incident occurred after the father advised him to change his life for the better.
A felony charge that could potentially alter Kemuel Emmanuel’s life has been brought against him.
On May 5, an incident occurred at Emmanuel’s apartment in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Miami, near the Miami Design District, as per an arrest report from the Miami Police Department.
According to the police, Emmanuel’s father, who was a senior citizen, not only advised his 29-year-old son to “change his life,” but also encouraged him to “do better for himself.”
According to the police report, Emmanuel got agitated and made threats to physically harm his father. He then proceeded to throw a nearby fan at his father’s right foot, hitting his toe.
Emmanuel ran away from the scene before the police arrived. However, the MPD’s Domestic Violence Apprehension Team was able to track and apprehend him around noon on Tuesday.
According to online jail records, he is currently being detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, facing a battery charge on a person aged 65 or older.
According to the records, his bond remains unset at this time.
