Over half a ton of cocaine, along with three suspected smugglers, was unloaded in Miami on Wednesday.
The USCG, in collaboration with interagency and international partners, successfully intercepted a large quantity of drugs in the international waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Crews rescued the three suspected smugglers from the water after their smuggling boat started taking on water and capsized. They also managed to recover bales of contraband that had been tossed into the sea.

The USCG announced that they successfully offloaded a total of 1,380 pounds of cocaine, which is estimated to be worth $18.1 million.
The Coast Guard has stated that the suspected smugglers have been transferred to the U.S. Department of Justice for prosecution in federal court.
During Fleet Week in May, a staggering $185 million worth of illegal drugs were offloaded, making the recent haul of over $18 million in narcotics seem relatively small in comparison.
