A Mercedes 300D was traveling eastward on 63rd Street near Hardesty Avenue just before 6:45 p.m. when it misjudged a curve and went off the road, according to KCPD’s early findings.

The Mercedes allegedly drove 120 feet down a grassy hillside and into a gorge, when it repeatedly overturned and ejected the driver, according to the KCPD.

The woman remembers trying to help the teen in Merriam just before she was slain. According to reports, the driver was not using a seat belt when the accident occurred.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle, according to KCPD, and when EMS came, the driver was declared deceased at the site.

According to reports, there are 54 fatalities this year compared to 49 at this time last year. The inquiry is still on.
