According to police, a man in Miami-Dade was caught repeatedly filming women in the changing room of a Goodwill store. When confronted, the man claimed that he was simply taking selfies.
Diego Jose Rosales-Morillo, a 25-year-old individual, got apprehended on Monday for three counts of video voyeurism. These incidents occurred at the Goodwill store located at 9760 Southwest 8th Street, as stated in an arrest report.
On August 22, 2023, Rosales-Morillo entered the store and patiently waited for the victim to step into a changing room, according to the report.
According to the report, he went into a neighboring room and, while holding his phone, recorded her while she was changing.
The woman noticed the incident unfolding in the mirror and swiftly dressed herself before confronting Rosales-Morillo. He expressed remorse and claimed to have deleted the video, according to the report.
Rosales-Morillo quickly left the store before the victim could inform the staff or police.
The store manager noticed Rosales-Morillo on July 9, inside the store once again, and instantly recognized him from the previous incident.
According to the report, the manager observed Rosales-Morillo engaging in inappropriate behavior at the store. It was found that he had crossed over the changing room partition with his phone in hand and proceeded to record a female victim.
According to the report, on August 12th, Rosales-Morillo once again went into the store. The manager noticed him reaching over the changing room partition with his phone and recording another victim.
According to the report, the store’s surveillance system captured the incidents, and later on, Rosales-Morillo was identified as the suspect.
The police confronted Rosales-Morillo regarding his presence in the store, according to the report. Although he acknowledged being in the store, he vehemently denied recording anyone. Instead, he insisted that he was merely taking selfies.
Rosales-Morillo was taken into custody and subsequently processed at the detention facility.
