The crash on Sunday afternoon led to the closure of all southbound lanes on I-95 near NW 103rd Street in Miami-Dade County. However, as of now, these lanes have been reopened.
Only in Dade’s video captured multiple vehicles severely damaged, including a silver Lexus sedan and a red pickup truck. Additionally, a massive tanker truck was observed overturned.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a crash occurred involving a red pickup truck and a silver Lexus. As a result of the crash, the Lexus collided with a fuel tanker truck.
The impact caused both the Lexus and fuel tanker to overturn, according to FHP. Subsequently, all southbound lanes had to be closed because of a fuel leak from the tanker.
Around 1 p.m., traffic cameras recorded significant congestion, with the southbound lanes later appearing deserted as emergency crews worked to clear the area.
The cleanup of the fuel spill and the process of overturning the tanker truck continued late into Sunday night. However, by early Monday morning, the lanes were reopened for traffic.
Only minor injuries were reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. NBC6 is currently working on obtaining further details regarding the incident that led to the crash.
