The Florida Keys are under a heat advisory until 7 p.m. The forecast predicts that it will feel like 112 degrees due to near-record heat in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching the low 90s.

According to the CBS News Miami Next Weather team, it is expected to reach a high of 93 degrees in Miami, which is just below the record of 95 degrees set in 1909. Key West is also anticipated to have a high of 92 degrees, coming close to the record of 94 degrees established in 1885. On the other hand, Fort Lauderdale is unlikely to break or tie a record as the forecasted high is 93 degrees, while the previous record stands at 97 degrees, set back in 1982.

Showers have started to move into certain areas of South Florida this morning. There is an increasing chance of rain for today as the Saharan dust starts to clear, making way for more moisture to enter the region. Additionally, scattered storms are expected to develop from late morning through the afternoon.

Thursday is expected to have an even higher chance of rain as the atmosphere becomes moist and unstable south of a frontal boundary. This will result in more widespread storms, potentially bringing heavy downpours. Despite the rain, temperatures will remain toasty with highs in the low 90s, offering some relief from the heat.

Friday in South Florida is expected to be a rather unsettled day, with the possibility of more storms. The temperatures will reach the low 90s, but it will feel even hotter with the heat index reaching triple digits.

The weekend forecast calls for a decrease in the chance of rain, thanks to the arrival of drier air. Saturday and Sunday will be hot and humid, with temperatures reaching the low 90s. There may be a few isolated storms in some areas.
