During the two-week operation named “Operation Euphoria”, Chief Wayne A. Jones reported a total of 57 arrests. The aim of the operation was to crack down on drug dealing within a 1000 feet radius of parks, schools, and places of worship.

Jones remarked, “These guys are experienced.”

Police officers, disguised as civilians, apprehended an individual who was reportedly involved in drug dealing near Temple Emanu-El, a significant synagogue located on Washington Avenue.

Police made arrests in the vicinity of Altos Del Mar and Lummus Park.

According to Jones, the officers went undercover and made multiple purchases of drugs from the suspects as part of the investigation. It was also revealed that some of the suspects had prior criminal records.
